Biography

Robert Mitchell, Jr., a proud native of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a dynamic professional with a passion for education, community engagement, and service. Robert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Alabama State University and currently he is furthering his academic pursuits by pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Bridgeport.

As the Assistant Provost of Enrollment Services at Dillard University in New Orleans, Robert plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of academic processes. His commitment to education is not only reflected in his administrative role but is also evident in his dedication to mentoring students and fostering a supportive academic environment.

Beyond the realm of academia, Robert is deeply involved in various community organizations. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., he actively contributes to the mission of the organization. Additionally, he serves as a key member of the 100 Black Men of Metro New Orleans, leveraging his influence to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in the community.

Robert’s commitment to his alma maters is evident through his role as a Board Member of the Warren Easton Alumni Association and as a founding Board Member of the Alabama State University Louisiana Alumni Chapter. In recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions, Robert was honored with the prestigious 50 Under 50 Distinguished Alumni Award in September 2018.

A mentor at heart and a devoted father, Robert lives by the motto: “Live life to the fullest for yesterday is the past, today is opportunity, and tomorrow is not promised to any of us.” Through his infectious enthusiasm and dedication to living, laughing, and loving, Robert continues to inspire those around him to embrace the richness of life.
