Biography

Paul Pastorek is an integral member of President Robbins’ Leadership Team at the University of Arizona. As part of this team, he holds the position of Senior Vice President, overseeing a diverse array of responsibilities within the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC).

Paul presides over various departments, including Enrollment Services, Student Services, Registrar, Student Affairs, Marketing, and Academics. Additionally, Paul collaborates closely with the University of Arizona leaders to provide oversight for critical areas such as IT, Finance, and HR within UAGC.

His dedication to student success and educational opportunities is demonstrated through his prior role as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Loyola University New Orleans. Notably, Paul’s leadership extended to the Louisiana Department of Education, where he served as the Superintendent of Education from 2007 to 2011. During this period, he orchestrated substantial improvements in academic performance statewide, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina’s impact on New Orleans’ public schools.

Paul’s diverse background also includes significant roles beyond academia. He served as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer for Airbus’ U.S. government operations, was appointed by President George W. Bush as General Counsel at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C., and held a gubernatorial appointment by Governor Mike Foster to Louisiana’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education from 1996 to 2004.

Educationally, Paul is a proud alumnus of Loyola University New Orleans, holding both a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Committed to fostering positive change, Paul’s influence extends to various nonprofit education boards, where he has actively contributed to organizations such as the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, CenterPoint Education Solutions (focused on curriculum and interim assessments), and The New Teacher Project (dedicated to Human Capital solutions).
