Biography

Over the course of his 25-year career, Matt Brown has worked in various senior leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Real Estate and P3 Advisory at WT Partnership. He is charged with leading a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that delivers world-class real estate, technical advisory, and project delivery services to both public and private-sector clients. 

Prior to WT, Matt served as President at Capstone Development Partners. During his tenure at Capstone, he helped the firm develop a new property and asset management company and supported the successful pursuit and delivery of multiple P3 projects. Matt also spent more than 20 years in the public sector, serving in senior leadership roles at Arizona State University, Oklahoma State University, and Northern Kentucky University. His area of expertise is in public-private partnerships, project management, auxiliary operations, and student housing.

His approach to leading WT’s Real Estate and P3 Advisory Services is largely inspired by his extensive experience in the public sector and previous experience as a client and user of advisory services. This gives him firsthand insight into the expectations and needs clients have for reliable advisory services and objective guidance. Matt is committed to ensuring WT exceeds expectations and delivers outstanding support and reliable information that will allow clients to make well-informed decisions.

Matt thrives on the opportunity to help partners solve complex challenges and deliver transformative new buildings and infrastructure projects that make a positive and meaningful impact on their communities. Regardless of the industry and market, quality facilities have the power to create a sense of place, facilitate learning, deliver services, and generate revenue to support organizational mission and values. Devising innovative and effective strategies to develop and deliver these new facilities is his passion. 

Matt is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, where he majored in Political Science. He also holds a master’s from Oklahoma State and Ph.D. from Indiana State University. He currently lives in Denver and has two grown daughters. When he is not busy with work, you can find him on the hiking trails or fly fishing in the mountains.
