Biography

Kirsten Volpi is the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer for the Colorado School of Mines. Ms. Volpi oversees all areas of Finance, Administration, and Operations for the university. Ms. Volpi has been with the Colorado School of Mines since August 2005. However, in August 2011, she left the school for two years to assume the role of the Chief Administrative Officer of the United States Olympic Committee.  Prior to her time at Mines, she was the Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration and Associate Treasurer for the University of Colorado Foundation.  

Ms. Volpi is a board member for Tetra Tech, a leading provider of high-end consulting, engineering, program management, and technical services worldwide.  

Ms. Volpi graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Accounting; she is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Colorado. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society for Certified Public Accountants.
