Biography

Dr. Jonathan Lord is a highly accomplished and dedicated education professional, recognized for his extensive contributions to educational leadership, strategic enrollment management, and community engagement. Since 2015, he has held pivotal roles at various institutions, leaving a lasting impact on education in Idaho.

As the Education Department Chair at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI), Dr. Lord adeptly managed relationships at state and local levels with all schools in the region and Teacher Education programs. He served on the IACTE board for five years and played a key role in developing the P20 conference, fostering effective teaching in collaboration with Region IV public educators. During this time, he successfully completed his Doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration.

His leadership continued as the Assistant Dean of Early College at CSI, where he combined dual credit and transition coordinator programs into a cohesive unit, managing over 7,000 dual credit students across the state. This effort resulted in an annual revenue of over $2.5 million and involved active participation on a charter school board and representation at monthly Superintendent meetings. Prior to his tenure at CSI, Dr. Lord also served as the Assistant Dean of Teacher Education at Idaho State University, where he developed and maintained transfer-based programs for the ISU Twin Falls campus.

As the Dean of Student Access, Dr. Lord oversaw the amalgamation of early college and admissions programs, pioneering a One Stop student services model and initiating a three-tiered support system. He established strategic partnerships, such as a 3+1 pathway with LCSC and co-admission/co-enrollment MOUs with Idaho State, LCSC, and UofI.

His leadership culminated in his current role as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, where he oversees Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, reporting directly to the President and sitting on the President’s Cabinet.

Dr. Lord is an active contributor to the field, with notable presentations at conferences such as RCCA, AACRAO, NISOD, and NACEP. His publications, including a book review and a doctoral dissertation on effective academic subcultures, reflect his commitment to advancing education. He has served on various boards, including Twin Falls School District and the Technology Council at CSI.

Dr. Lord’s commitment to continuous learning is evident in his diverse certifications, including a Certificate in Mental Health First Aid, Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement, and Wilderness First Responder Certification. His achievements include serving as the Dean of the College of Southern Idaho, Assistant Dean at Idaho State University, and earning the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Certificate.
