Jay O’Callaghan is Chief Online Officer at Kean University. Kean is New Jersey’s designated urban research University and one of the fastest growing institutions in the State with over 17,000 students. 

Jay leads Kean’s Transformational Learning unit, responsible for expanding the university’s reach and equitable access through online and multi-modal programming and strategic partnerships. In Jay’s tenure at the University, Transformational Learning’s anchor Kean Online enterprise has seen unprecedented growth through strategic program expansion, enhanced recruitment strategies, improved product, and strengthened relationships with area employers.

Jay comes to Kean with almost two decades of senior leadership experience in the Education & Learning vertical. Prior to joining Kean, Jay was Vice President for Higher Education at Stride, where he helped the legacy virtual school provider and its portfolio companies expand into HE through several high profile strategic partnerships. Before Stride, Jay held a progression of increasingly senior leadership positions at several leading Education & Learning providers – both incumbents and insurgents in the space – always with a strong focus on both digital transformation at scale and operational excellence.
