Steve Bettner

Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services, New Mexico State University

Biography

Dr. Steve Bettner serves as the Assistant Vice President of Auxiliary Services at New Mexico State University. Responsible for a $50 million enterprise and nearly 800 employees for auxiliary services- including housing & residence life, dining, conferences, bookstore, parking, athletics stadium & game day operations, special events, golf course, card services, mail and transportation and contracts administration.

A retired Naval Officer and Submariner, at one time was responsible for a $5 Billion budget providing for all logistics and life support services including housing and dinning to over 180,000 U.S. and Coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition to the Navy, he has worked for the Secretary of Defense, Lockheed Martin Corporation and both the University of South Florida and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Bettner earned a Bachelor Degree from the University of Tampa, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management and Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia.
