Biography

Jennifer Blum is known in the U.S. as a leader in government relations and policy making in higher education. Throughout her thirty-year career she has engaged in legislative, regulatory and oversight-related initiatives. Her practice and leadership in higher education policy developed in 2001 after joining Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP. In 2012, she joined Laureate Education, Inc., becoming Senior Vice President for Government Relations where she led a global team of external relations professionals in government and public relations, issues and crisis management, and reputation management. She founded Blum Higher Education Advising, PLLC, in July 2019 to counsel clients on how to navigate the complexities of higher education law, to create best practices for serving students, and to drive new policies that support continued accountability and innovations in higher education. In 2020, she was appointed to the U.S. Department of Education’s National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) for a six-year term.
