Biography

Andrew Clark is the Founder, President and CEO of Zovio, (Nasdaq: ZVO), an education technology services company that delivers innovative, personalized solutions to help learners earn college degrees, certificates and credentials. Education is Andrew’s passion, and he has spent most of his career creating and introducing educational technology and services to learners, universities and companies. 

The inception of Zovio is a result of Andrew realizing the need for online education during the dot- com bubble. Within 16 years, he raised capital to launch Zovio, took it public and acquired Fullstack Academy, Learn@Forbes, and TutorMe to further diversify Zovio’s offerings. More recently, and as a validation to the vision he had decades earlier, Zovio signed a historic agreement to sell Zovio’s Ashford University to the University of Arizona, in one of the largest edtech deals in the United States.

Andrew has been recognized for his experience, passion, and vision as the San Diego Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and recently, was acknowledged for his unique approach to the delivery of distance education by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), receiving the Innovation Award for the development of Constellation, a state-of-the-art platform and suite of e-online textbooks providing easier ways to learn. Under Andrew’s leadership, in 2008, Zovio was recognized by Inc. 5000 as the 14th fastest-growing company in America.

Andrew is committed to giving back to the community, and his team has been recognized nationally for its corporate social responsibility efforts, recently receiving the Silver Stevie Award for CSR of the year. Andrew earned a BA in Communication Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and an MBA from University of Phoenix.
