Nicole Michienzi became Purdue University’s Senior Director of Capital Markets and Special Projects on February 1, 2022. She reports directly to Purdue’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Chris Ruhl, and serves as a key member of the university’s senior financial leadership team. 

In her role, Nicole is responsible for the university’s capital markets transactions and overseeing a nearly billion-dollar debt portfolio. She provides expertise on credit metrics and in developing the optimal capital structure for the university and its affiliates. This includes evaluating and executing public-private partnerships, working directly with the Purdue Research Foundation on economic development projects, and coordinating alternative capital, real estate, and infrastructure financings.

Prior to Purdue University, Nicole spent over 15 years as an investment banker in public finance primarily focused on higher education and nonprofit institutions. Nicole graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University.
