Michael Fenlon, Ph.D., is an experienced executive recognized for leading talent and workforce strategies for the digital economy, building innovative and inclusive cultures, developing leaders, and driving collaboration between business and higher education.
Mike has held US and global leadership positions, including C-suite, at PwC. Most recently, as PwC’s Chief Future of Work Officer, he focused on the impact of AI, technology, and other megatrends on workforce transformation strategies, culture, leadership and talent development, and employee reskilling. Fast Company magazine has honored Mike as one of the 100 most creative people in business.
Mike served as Chief People Officer for PwC US and Mexico, and employee centers in India, China, Argentina, the Philippines, and Indonesia. He also led PwC’s sponsorship for CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, comprised of 2,500+ CEOs and university presidents representing 21M+ employees. Earlier, he was Global Talent Leader for the PwC network, comprised of 364,000+ employees across 151 countries with $51.1bn revenue in FY23.
He is a former member of the Columbia Business School Executive Education Faculty ranked by The Financial Times as #1 in the world, and as Associate Dean, he led top-rated executive MBA programs, including partnerships with London Business School and UC Berkeley Haas. He taught a popular EMBA course on Executive Leadership, and programs on leadership, teams, and organization change for the Columbia Institute for Non-Profit Management.
Mike earned a Ph.D. and three master’s degrees from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and serves on the board for the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Foundation, and co-chairs the board on the Future of Work for the Institute for Corporate Productivity.
