Dr. Kari Knutson Miller is Dean of Professional and Global Education (PaGE), Senior International Officer, and Professor of Psychology at California State University, Stanislaus. Her portfolio includes Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE) and International Education and Global Engagement (IEGE) units.
CaPE provides academic credit and non-academic credit courses and programs that connect campus and community; support enrichment, employment, and professional advancement; and are aligned with regional economic development and workforce initiatives.
IEGE units support comprehensive internationalization including internationalization at home and emphasize international programs and global engagement situated in and relevant to the institution and the region – that is, connection between global and local.
Dr. Knutson Miller is a member of UPCEA, AIEA, NAFSA, EAIE, and serves on the CONAHEC Advisory Board. She also serves as the CSU Stanislaus representative to the BEAM/CBIO Collaborative Leadership Council and Workforce Development Working Group and Stanislaus County Workforce Development Board. Dr. Knutson Miller leads Stan State’s response to the North San Joaquin Valley’s circular bioeconomy initiative with an emphasis on capacity building to support innovation and entrepreneurship together with engaged faculty and in collaboration with community partners.
Dr. Knutson Miller’s previous professional roles include Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean of University Extended Education, Associate Vice President for International Programs and Global Engagement, Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Studies, and Professor of Child and Adolescent Development at California State University, Fullerton.
