Jerry Jackson

Biography

Dr. Jerry Jackson currently serves as Chancellor at University of the Cumberlands, Kentucky’s largest and fastest-growing private university.

Since 2004, Dr. Jackson has served in leadership roles at three private colleges in Tennessee and Kentucky. As Vice President of Enrollment at each college, Dr. Jackson has provided senior leadership for Admissions, Financial Aid, Alumni Affairs and College Communications offices; ensured effective student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and data analysis; managed media and public relations, as well as the institution’s print and web presence; arranged development and implementation of a strategic, integrated marketing and messaging plan (rooted in marketplace research) which produces content congruent with a strong institutional brand; and represented the college within the communities it serves, among other responsibilities. Dr. Jackson has facilitated campus growth at each university he has served.

Dr. Jackson also has teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels and has presented at numerous national workshops over the past 10 years. He has garnered honors for leadership and service from the United States Department of Defense, National Organization of Outstanding Americans, Union College, and Leadership Tri-County. Dr. Jackson is a member of numerous national and state associations in College Admissions Counseling, Financial Aid Administrators, and Registrar Admissions, as well as the American Marketing Association.

Dr. Jackson received a B.A. in English from Union College, proceeded to earn his M.A. in Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and completed his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Cumberlands.
