Biography

Aurora has nearly twenty years of experience in higher education and private sector sustainability and clean energy work. Aurora is the Director of Stanford’s Office of Sustainability within Land, Buildings, and Real Estate. Prior to Stanford, Aurora launched and co-led the process from inception to Board approval for Swarthmore College’s Roadmap to Zero Carbon, an energy infrastructure plan to eliminate 98% of the College’s Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions through electrification, conversion of the central plant from steam to low temperature hot water, deep energy efficiency, renewables, and geo-exchange. Aurora previously worked for Leidos Engineering as the Market Transformation Manager for Hawaii Energy, the state’s energy efficiency program; the University of Hawaii, where she established the system-wide Sustainability Policy; and the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she founded the Sustainability Office.
