Biography

Adriaan Louw earned his undergraduate degree, master’s degree, and PhD in physiotherapy from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa. He is an adjunct faculty member at St. Ambrose University and the University of Nevada Las Vegas, teaching pain science. 

He is the Director of the Therapeutic Neuroscience Research Group—an independent collaborative initiative studying pain neuroscience—and serves as EVP for Academic Innovation at Evidence In Motion.

Dr. Louw has taught throughout the US and internationally for 25 years at numerous national and international manual therapy, pain science, and medical conferences. He has authored and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and books related to spinal disorders and pain science. 

In addition to his vast teaching and research experience, Dr. Louw is a leading innovator in the design and implementation of graduate and post-professional education. He has been instrumental in developing hybrid models that integrate online curriculum with immersive on-campus lab experiences. 

In his role at EIM, he especially focuses on leading student success strategies and developing research and educational pathways that address the complex needs of modern health care practitioners and the disciplines they serve.
